NorthWest EHealth (NWEH) is a limited company formed following a successful partnership between the University of Manchester, Salford Royal Foundation Trust and Salford Clinical Commissioning Group. Our customers are pharmaceutical companies and technology partners as well as NHS and government. We work collaboratively with partners to develop innovative ways of delivering improvements in health care and research.   

Major projects have included recruiting patients to studies, enabling ground-breaking real-world clinical trials and delivering real-time drug safety monitoring throughout trials. NWEH provides a highly creative and collaborative work environment, where knowledge sharing and team work are key to success. NWEH are looking for an assistant software developer who has clear passion and enthusiasm for software development and who has a clear interest in working within the health data field. You will work as part of the team to continue to develop innovative approaches, trialling new technologies and continously striving to maintain NWEH leading edge advantage.

Required skills:  

  • A degree in computer science (or related subject), or equivalent.
  • Experience of quality software development and an understanding of the development lifecycle.
  • Experience in C# or similar language.
  • Good knowledge of OO, design patterns and software best practice (refactoring, domain driven design, unit testing).
  • A working knowledge of at least one RDBMS/NoSQL solution.
  • An understanding of Agile and/or Continuous Delivery approaches.

NWEH are looking for a software developer with the enthusiasm and passion for Software development. You will produce innovative software of the highest quality in accordance with NWEH procedures to agreed deadlines and objectives.  You will take an active role in the team with the development and evolution of all software development. You will assist in accreditation and certification processes that NWEH participates in and adheres to, whilst supporting other members of the development team, by maintaining a high standard of daily work performing code reviews and assisting in mentoring junior members of the team.

You will be a disruptive thinker who demonstrates problem solving and who has good communication skills.  You will be keen to demonstrate this within the team. 

Required skills

  • A degree in computer science (or related subject), or equivalent.
  • Industry experience of quality software development and a proven record of delivering successful solutions
  • Substantial experience in C# or similar language.
  • Strong knowledge of OO, design patterns and software best practice (refactoring, domain driven design, unit testing).

You will take a lead role in the development and evolution of all software development, whilst supporting the team to continue to develop innovative approaches, trialling new technologies and continuously striving to maintain NWEH leading edge advantage.

As part of the team you will also be required to provide second line support to users and maintain deployed software and lead long term projects within your own area to support the achievements of overall project objectives.

Senior Clinical Research Nurse

Salary: £41 to £48k

NWEH are looking for an experienced senior clinicial research nurse to join an innovative and dynamic group of healthcare professionals who are a motivated, highly skilled and who believe in working as a team, encouraging and investing in one another. NWEH promote formal and informal training, mentorship programmes and plan and nurture individuals for career progression. 

As a senior clinicial research nurse, you will be providing specialist skills and knowledge to support the running of clinical research studies, including recruiting and supporting patients participating in studies as required. Providing key management and/or peer support for Research Nurses, will be required to cover for Research Nurse vacancies and will have a key role in determining the staffing levels required to provide an effective research service. In partnership with the Research Delivery Manager, you will be instrumental in implementing the NWEH strategic objectives and will be responsible for leading and co-ordinating a portfolio of studies.

We are looking to recruit to three posts, one with a special responsibility for quality, one with responsibility for safety and pharmacovigilance and one with responsibility for professional standards.
